When considering advanced inversions, it\u2019s important that one remember that\u00a0do you, are you,<\/em>\u00a0e\u00a0will you<\/em>\u00a0are also inversions. However, those are not the ones we will approach today. There are four types of inversions<\/strong> in total.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

There was a time, while preparing for the C2 Proficiency, when I became obsessed with inversions. Little did I know that they were just one of many elements that could refine my language production\u2014or so I would say.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The simplest one is with negative adverbs or adverbial expressions<\/strong>. I deem them the simplest, as they tend to be the most readily noticeable and seamlessly integrated into speech and writing.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

2 If-clauses<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The second type of inversion occurs in conditional sentences.<\/strong> In this video, we will focus on first-conditionals, though second- and third-conditionals also employ inversion in certain structures.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n
